Day Thirteen. Last night on the ice.
The team can see the end in sight now and really pushed themselves, covering a further 19km and putting themselves in a very good position for the final leg of just under ten miles. Despite the sad news that the whiskey is all gone the team are feeling exhilarated that, all being well, they will be standing on top of the world tomorrow. They leave their final voice blogs from the Arctic Ocean, the next message will hopefully be news of their success!
Ringing from the ice, Ed Parker commented on how the team are feeling:
"It’s getting exciting, we just have to hope and pray that the weather is going to be kind to us tomorrow. It’s the most beautiful evening here so it bodes well for tomorrow and hopefully we can tell you tomorrow that four wounded soldiers are standing on top of the world!"
The team were also lucky enough to see a pressure ridge form, two huge terrains of ice colliding and the ice compacting to form a ridge. It clearly was an amazing sight judging from the descriptions in the teams voice blogs, which you can read here.
